DESCRIPTION:ENTRÉE LIBRE DANS LA LIMITE DES PLACES DISPONIBLES \nENTRÉE PAR LA RUE DES BAINS \n\n\n\n\n\nPaysages sonores animés\nAndrea Martignoni présentera ses créations de trames sonores pour le cinéma d’animation et les différentes facettes de son travail. \nAnimated soundscapes\nAndrea Martignoni will present his soundtrack creations for animated films and speak about various aspects of his work. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nANDREA MARTIGNONI \n\n\n\n\nAndrea Martignoni (né en 1961) est un musicien italien\, concepteur sonore et historien du cinéma. Il a étudié la musique et la géographie à l’Université de Bologne. En 1996\, il obtient une bourse de recherche du Gouvernement canadien pour approfondir ses études à la Cinémathèque québécoise. Comme musicien\, il a participé à plusieurs projets d’artistes internationaux comme Fred Frith\, Jon Rose\, Lawrence D. Butch Morris\, Dominique Lentin et le collectif Laboratorio di Musica e Immagine.\nAvec la Compagnia d’Arte Drummatica\, il collabore à des projets de ciné-concerts consacrés à la sonorisation de films d’animation. Il a créé les trames sonores de nombreux courts métrages animés (entre autres de Saul Saguatti\, Blu\, Pierre Hébert\, Petra Zlonoga\, Igor Pramatarov\, Roberto Catani\, Virginia Mori\, Ivan Bogdanov\, Soetkin Verstegen) et son travail a été distingué par plusieurs prix.\nEn collaboration avec plusieurs festivals internationaux\, il a conduit des masterclasses\, des ateliers\, des conférences en lien avec l’animation et la bande sonore et il a enseigné l’histoire de l’animation aux Beaux-Arts de Palerme et à l’Université de Milan.\nIl prépare actuellement son premier film d’animation avec la réalisatrice Maria Steinmetz. \n\n\n\n\nAndrea Martignoni was born in 1961 and is an Italian musician\, sound designer and film historian. He studied music and geography at the University of Bologna. In 1996\, he received a research award from the Canadian government to further his studies at the Cinémathèque québécoise. As a musician\, he has participated in numerous projects with international artists such as Fred Frith\, Jon Rose\, Lawrence D. Butch Morris\, Dominique Lentin and the group Laboratorio di Musica e Immagine. With the Compagnia d’Arte Drummatica\, he works on film concert projects\, producing live soundtracks for animated films. He has composed the soundtrack for many animated shorts\, including films by Saul Saguatti\, Blu\, Pierre Hébert\, Petra Zlonoga\, Igor Pramatarov\, Roberto Catani\, Virginia Mori\, Ivan Bogdanov\, and Soetkin Verstegen\, and has received numerous awards for his work. At international festivals\, he has led master classes\, workshops and conferences on animation and soundtracks. He has also taught the history of animation at the Fine Arts Academy of Palermo and at the University of Milan. He is currently working on his first animated film with director Maria Steinmetz.

DESCRIPTION:ENTRÉE LIBRE DANS LA LIMITE DES PLACES DISPONIBLES \nENTRÉE PAR LA RUE DES BAINS \n\n\n\n\n\nVoir aussi la rétrospective consacrée à Theodore Ushev\, dans le cadre du programme spécial Canada \n\nTHEODORE USHEV \n\n\n\n\nNé à Kyustendil\, en Bulgarie\, en 1968\, Theodore Ushev est diplômé de l’Académie nationale des beaux-arts de Sofia. Il se fait d’abord connaître comme affichiste dans son pays d’origine avant de s’installer à Montréal en 1999. Outre-Atlantique\, son talent s’impose rapidement dans la réalisation de films d’animation\, grâce à plusieurs films primés comme L’homme qui attendait (2006) et Tzaritza (2006). En 2006\, il amorce une trilogie remarquée sur les relations entre l’art et le pouvoir: Tower Bawher (2006)\, Drux Flux (2008)\, Gloria Victoria (2013).\nEn parallèle\, il réalise plusieurs courts métrages qui prennent pour sujet des artistes et cinéastes dans leur rapport au monde: Les journaux de Lipsett (2010)\, son fillm le plus connu\, primé à 16 reprises\, Rossignols en décembre (2011) et Joda (2012). Fasciné par les nouvelles plateformes de diffusion\, il réalise des films pour Internet (Vertical\, 2003)\, les téléphones portables (Sou\, 2004) et un vidéoclip (Demoni\, 2012). Avec 3e page après le soleil (2014) Theodore Ushev propose une réflexion cinglante sur le destin des livres. Littéralement dessiné avec son sang\, Manifeste de sang (2015) est un pamphlet sur les idéaux qui méritent — ou non — qu’on donne sa vie pour les défendre. Basé sur la nouvelle de Georgi Gospodinov\, son plus récent film Vaysha l’aveugle\, est une métaphore sur la difficulté de vivre le moment présent. Le film a eu sa première au Festival de Berlin et a gagné le Prix du Jury et le Prix du Jury Junior au Festival d’Annecy 2016.\nTheodore Ushev proposera sous forme d’une conversation libre une masterclass autour de son travail et des liens entre l’art et la politique. \n\n\n\n\nBorn in Kyustendil\, Bulgaria\, in 1968\, Theodore Ushev graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. He first made a name for himself as a poster artist in his native country before settling in Montreal in 1999. Across the Atlantic\, Ushev quickly acquired a reputation as a talented animator through the critical success of films such as The Man who Waited (2006) and Tzartitza (2006). In 2006\, he began work on an acclaimed trilogy on the relationship between art and power with Tower Bawher (2006)\, Drux Flux (2008)\, and Gloria Victoria (2013).\nIn parallel\, he made a number of short films focusing on artists and filmmakers and their relation to the world: Lipsett Diaries (2010)\, his best-known lm to date and winner of 16 awards\, Nightingales in December (2011) and Joda (2012). His fascination with new content-delivery platforms led him to produce works for the Internet (Vertical\, 2003) and mobile phones (Sou\, 2004) as well as a music video (Demoni\, 2012). His Third Page from the Sun (2014) was a daring reflection on the future of books. Animated with his own blood\, Blood Manifesto (2015) questions which ideals\, if any\, are worth shedding blood for. Ushev’s latest project\, Blind Vaysha\, is based on a short story by Georgi Gospodinov and is a metaphor for our struggle to live in the moment.
