Il a étudié la musique et la géographie à l’Université de Bologne. En 1996\, il obtient une bourse de recherche du gouvernement canadien pour approfondir ses études à la Cinémathèque québécoise. Comme musicien\, il a participé à plusieurs projets d’artistes internationaux comme Fred Frith\, Jon Rose\, Lawrence D. Butch Morris\, Dominique Lentin et le collectif Laboratorio di Musica e Immagine. Avec la Compagnia d’Arte Drummatica\, il collabore à des projets de ciné-concerts consacrés à la sonorisation de films d’animation. Il a créé les trames sonores de nombreux courts-métrages animés (entre autres de Saul Saguatti\, Blu\, Pierre Hébert\, Petra Zlonoga\, Igor Pramatarov\, Roberto Catani\, Virginia Mori\, Ivan Bogdanov\, Soetkin Verstegen) et son travail a été distingué par plusieurs prix. En collaboration avec divers festivals internationaux\, il a conduit des masterclass\, des ateliers\, des conférences en lien avec l’animation et la bande sonore et a enseigné l’histoire de l’animation aux Beaux- Arts de Palerme et à l’Université de Milan. Il prépare actuellement son premier film d’animation avec la réalisatrice Maria Steinmetz. Andrea supervisera également un atelier d’une semaine en novembre 2017 à la HEAD-Genève avec les étudiant-e-s de la filière communication en vue de la création des bandes annonces du Festival Animatou 2018. \nAndrea Martignoni was born in 1961 and is an Italian musician\, sound designer and film historian. He studied music and geography at the University of Bologna. In 1996\, he received a research award from the Canadian government to further his studies at the Cinémathèque québécoise. As a musician\, he has participated\nin numerous projects with international artists such as Fred Frith\, Jon Rose\, Lawrence D. Butch Morris\, Dominique Lentin and the group Laboratorio di Musica e Immagine. With the Compagnia d’Arte Drummatica\, he works on film concert projects\, producing live soundtracks for animated films. He has composed the soundtrack for many animated shorts\, including films by Saul Saguatti\, Blu\, Pierre Hébert\, Petra Zlonoga\, Igor Pramatarov\, Roberto Catani\, Virginia Mori\, Ivan Bogdanov\, and Soetkin Verstegen\, and has received numerous awards for his work. At international festivals\, he has led master classes\, workshops and conferences on animation and soundtracks. He has also taught the history of animation at the Fine Arts Academy of Palermo and at the University of Milan. He is currently working on his first animated film with director Maria Steinmetz. Andrea will also supervise a one week workshop in November 2017 at HEAD-Genève with the students of Visual Communication Department in order to create the 2018 Animatou trailers.
