Ce séminaire veut y contribuer. \nAlthough Switzerland is recognized for its documentary cinema and its animated films\, it is rare to find films that unite the two approaches\, despite a growing interest on the part of producers and audiences for documentary animated films.\n This seminar offers participants a chance to interrogate the possibilities of such a cinema at the crossroads of genres. Four Swiss and European film projects will serve as the point of depart for reflection on the formal concerns of this hybridization. Speakers will share their experiences\, drawing on examples; they will examine not only the artistic aspects\, but also the productionrelated and technical aspects related to their work.\n Independent of its format (short\, long\, series)\, the animated documentary is a genre that offers a vast terrain of creation\, provided that dialogue between the disciplines is open and without prejudice. Formé à Genève\, établi à Carouge depuis de nombreuses années où il a cofondé le studio GDS avec Claude Luyet et Daniel Suter\, Georges Schwizgebel est l’auteur d’une vingtaine de films virtuoses et bouleversants. La poésie\, le rêve et la métamorphose sont autant de thèmes qui caractérisent ses oeuvres sans dialogue\, composées de somptueuses peintures animées et harmonieusement rythmées de compositions musicales.\nPrimés dans les grands festivals du monde (Cannes\, Annecy\, Zagreb\, Hiroshima\, Ottawa et Espinho)\, ses films ont fait l’objet de nombreuses rétrospectives à Nuremberg\, Stuttgart\, Tokyo\, Osaka\, Paris et New York. En 2015\, il a reçu le Prix Culture & Société de la Ville de Genève pour l’ensemble de son oeuvre. DESCRIPTION:TOURNAGE DU COURT MÉTRAGE EXPÉRIMENTAL VERTICO\nDU LUNDI 5.10 AU VENDREDI 9.10\nESPACE D’EXPOSITION LE COMMUN – BÂTIMENT D’ART CONTEMPORAIN (BAC)\, GENÈVE \nÀ l’occasion du dixième anniversaire du Festival\, Hélium Films\, en coproduction avec la RTS et en partenariat avec Animatou\, a invité les créateurs et créatrices des affi ches de ses précédentes\néditions à réaliser durant la semaine du Festival un court métrage d’animation dans l’espace Le Commun\, généreusement mis à disposition par la Ville de Genève. Onze illustrateurs et illustratrices ont répondu présent à l’appel: Peggy Adam\, Alex Baladi\, Adrienne Barman\, Mirjana Farkas\, Julien Käser\, Cécile Koepfli\, Anna Sommer\, Tom Tirabosco\, Antonio Veiras\, William Crayston et Pierre Wazem. Lynn Devillaz et Elie Chapuis superviseront le tournage du lundi 5 au vendredi 9 octobre 2015. Trois techniques d’animation seront employées: l’animation de sable sur table lumineuse\, la pixilation d’objets et de personnes filmés image par image. Baptisé Vertico\, ce film expérimental exploitera les potentiels visuels de la verticalité et de l’abstraction. Franz Treichler\, membre fondateur et chanteur des Young Gods\, assumera la composition de la bande sonore. \nOuverture au public\nLe public est invité durant toute la semaine à participer au tournage comme figurant et à se laisser «animer» par les créateurs du film.\nInscription obligatoire. \nPour s’inscrire\nPar email à vertico@animatou.com (jusqu’au 2 octobre) ou à l’Accueil du Festival Animatou au Bâtiment d’Art Contemporain\, dès le 3 octobre. Places limitées! \nLieu\nEspace Le Commun | Bâtiment d’Art Contemporain rez-de-chaussée\n28 rue des Bains\, 1205 Genève \nFor the Festival’s tenth anniversary\, Hélium Films\, in coproduction with the RTS (Radio Television Switzerland) and in partnership with Animatou\, has invited the creators of the posters of past Festival editions to make a short animated fi lm together during the week of the Festival in the space “Le Commun” made available by the City of Geneva. Eleven illustrators have responded to the call: Peggy Adam\, Alex Baladi\, Adrienne Barman\, Mirjana Farkas\, Julien Käser\, Cécile Koepfli\, Anna Sommer\, Tom Tirabosco\, Antonio Veiras\, William Crayston and Pierre Wazem. Filmmakers Lynn Devillaz and Elie Chapuis will supervise the shooting from Monday the 5th to Friday the 9th of October. Three different animation techniques will be used: animation with sand on a light box\, pixilation of objects\, and persons fi lmed image by image. Named Vertico\, this experimental fi lm will exploit the visual potentials of verticality and abstraction. Franz Treichler\, founding member and singer of Young Gods\, will take on the composition of the soundtrack. \nOpen to the public\nDuring the entire week\, the public is invited to participate in the film shooting as extras and let themselves be “animated” by the creators of the film. DESCRIPTION:10 COURTS MÉTRAGES – 80′ – Dès 10 ans / From 10 years\nVendredi 2 octobre 2015 à 19h45 | ALHAMBRA\nMardi 6 octobre 2015 à 12h00 | BAC \nAchetez vos billets \nEn avant programme\, diffusion du court métrage Le peuple bouture de Guillaume Reymond en collaboration avec le Service de la culture de la Ville de Meyrin et l’association Cinématou. \nLes 21 courts métrages de la Compétition suisse concourent pour deux prix: Prix du Public «Bâloise Assurances» d’une valeur de CHF 3’000.- décerné au meilleur court métrage par le public.\nUn bulletin de vote sera distribué avant chaque projection.\nPrix «Taurus Studio» récompensé par 2 jours d’enregistrement en studio\, décerné au court métrage ayant la meilleure bande son par un jury de musiciens professionnels. \nThe 21 Swiss short films in competition are competing for the following awards: The «Bâloise Assurances» Audience Award\, prized at 3’000 CHF\, will go to the best animated short film. Voting slips will be distributed to the audience before each screeening.\nThe «Taurus Studio» Award\, consisting in a two-day recording session at Taurus Studios\, Geneva\, will be given to the best soundtrack by a jury of professional musicians.
