C’est presque le printemps, Animatou remue dans sa tanière… Le ciel brille, les oiseaux enchantent, la mousse exhibe son vert, la sève monte. Miaou, il est temps de lancer l’édition 2019 du festival!
Nous sommes très heureux d’annoncer que les soumissions pour les sections compétitives de cette 14ème édition ouvrent ce jour. De quoi calmer la faim du Matou au réveil d’un long hiver.
Cette année, Animatou invite la Pologne, un pays qui jouit d’une très grande tradition dans l’animation et dont la production contemporaine reste à la pointe mondiale. Le programme en cours de concoction s’annonce vaste et varié, car cette contrée si proche et pourtant aujourd’hui assez peu connue dans l’ouest de l’Europe est héritière d’une histoire riche et complexe, porteuse d’une culture traditionnelle qui célèbre la liberté, la spiritualité et la nature. Des thèmes qui nous semblent plutôt opportuns en ce chaud début d’année 2019.
En attendant de pouvoir vous en dire plus, l’équipe d’Animatou vous donne rendez-vous un mercredi par mois au Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève pour les Mercredis de l’animation. Prochaine séance le 8 mai!
Animatou 2019: inscriptions ouvertes
Les inscriptions de courts métrages d’animation sont désormais ouvertes pour les sections compétitives du festival sur la plateforme Short Film Depot (https://www.shortfilmdepot.com), avec délai final au 10 mai 2019.
La sélection s’effectue sur les films sortis en 2018 et 2019. Les référents de chaque film sélectionné seront contactés avant fin juillet.

Animatou 2019 Call for Entries
It’s almost springtime in Switzerland, time for Animatou to open an eye, take a little stroll out of its burrow and wander amid the flowery fragrances. Smell that 2019 edition in the buzzing air? Nature is bursting with anticipation!
Of course, since Poland – a country boasting pristine forests, dreamy natural lanscapes and, incidentally, a huge standing in animation – is this year’s country of honour. This is a big piece! The programme is sure to be a vast and wide-ranging one, exploring our neighbours’ celebration of freedom, spirituality, nature and so much more: a journey to explore a relatively and undeservedly little-known country for us in the West of Europe, with a rich and complex culture and history. Fun, fascinating – and a curiosity that is now urgently necessary in these times of worsening hardship for both nature and humans!
Now, to today’s main news:
Submissions of animated shorts are now open on the Short Film Depot platform for the Animatou festival competitive sections (https://www.shortfilmdepot.com). The final deadline is set to 10th May 2019.
Only films released in 2018 and 2019 are eligible for selection. All selection confirmations will be sent by end of July.
