La SAIG est fière de participer cette année, en tant que partenaire, à
un événement qui acquiert au fil des années toujours plus d’importance:
celui du Festival International du Film d’animation Animatou, dont le
pays invité d’honneur est l’Italie. Forte de son histoire
cinématographique, y compris le cinéma d’animation, l’Italie ne manquera
pas de donner encore plus de lustre à la présence italienne du Canton.
Ce festival sert également à renforcer les liens excellents, tant
interpersonnels que culturels, entre l’Italie et la Suisse, avec la
présence des quelque 50.000 transalpins dans le Canton de Genève, parmi
les 620.000 présents dans toute la Suisse. Depuis plusieurs années la
SAIG s’engage à promouvoir la culture italienne, par le biais entre
autres de la «Semaine de la Langue Italienne dans le Monde», qui cette
année a justement pour thème le Cinéma!… tout un programme!
La Société des Associations Italiennes de Genève tient par conséquent à
féliciter l’équipe du festival Animatou pour cette belle initiative et à
les remercier pour l’opportunité qu’elle offre à l’Italie, invitée
d’honneur, de mieux faire connaître ses particularités et sa créativité à
une société genevoise multiculturelle. Ceci, grâce à l’approche
cinématographique et à celle plus sociologique du phénomène migratoire
italien en Suisse, d’un point de vue historique ou plus actuel. Elle se
réjouit de partager avec d’autres spectateurs des moments de découverte
et d’émotion.
The Society of Italian Associations in Geneva (SAIG) is proud to
participate as a partner this year in an event that gains in importance
with each passing year – the Animatou International Animation Film
Festival, whose country of honour for its 12th edition is Italy. With
Italy’s prestigious cinematographic history, including its animated
films, the Festival’s focus willilluminate the Italian presence in the
Canton
of Geneva even more.The festival also reinforces the important
interpersonal and cultural links between Italy and Switzerland, as
50,000 Italians live in the Canton of Geneva, and
620,000 in Switzerland. Throughout the past years, the SAIG has been
active in promoting Italian culture through events like «Italian
Language Week in the World» whose
theme this year happens to be the cinema – quite
a programme! The SAIG would especially like to congratulate the Animatou
team for their splendid initiative and thank them for the opportunity
given to Italy, as country of honor, to expose the unique facets and
creativity of Italian culture to a multicultural Geneva. This is made
possible through an approach that is both cinematographic and
sociological, with a focus on Italian migration in Switzerland in the
past and the present day. We look forward to sharing moments of
discovery and emotion along with other Festival goers.
