Je suis ravi de voir que l’Italie est le Pays invité d’honneur de l’Édition 2017 du Festival international du film d’animation Animatou. C’est un grand honneur et une magnifique occasion de pouvoir montrer le cinéma d’animation italien à un public international. Je me réjouis du programme, qui touche l’aspect non seulement cinématographique, mais aussi ethnographique et sociologique de la migration italienne en Suisse, une réalité qui est et a toujours été de grande actualité aussi bien en Suisse qu’en Italie. N’oublions pas que plus de 600’000 italiens vivent en Suisse. Les échanges culturels entre nos deux pays sont
très intenses, d’autant plus que la langue italienne est une des langues nationales suisses. Un des thèmes proposés par le Festival est l’animation dans la publicité, en particulier entre 1950 et 1970, une période très riche du film d’animation italien. Bien évidemment l’histoire de l’animation italienne continue et je me réjouis de voir qu’elle est valorisée aussi dans le cadre du Festival avec l’intéressante programmation consacrée au cinéma d’animation italien contemporain. J’aimerais aussi souligner une autre louable initiative
du Festival: le discours autour de la promotion de la langue et de la culture italiennes dans le cadre de la projection de films en langue originale italienne, destinés aux élèves. En conclusion laissez-moi remercier vivement la direction et toute l’équipe du Festival d’Animatou pour leur travail et pour le regard agréable et intéressant qu’ils ont voulu porter sur notre pays.
I am delighted that Italy is the guest Country of Honor at the
2017 edition of the Animatou International Animation Film Festival. It
is a great honor and a magnificent occasion to be able to show Italian
animated films to an international
audience. I look forward to the programme, which touches on the
cinematographic, ethnographic and sociological aspects of Italian
migration in Switzerland, a reality that is and has always been of great
relevance in Switzerland as in Italy. We should not forget that more
than 600,000 Italians live in Switzerland. The cultural exchanges
between our two countries run deep, especially as Italian is one of
Switzerland’s official languages.
One of the Festival’s themes is animation in advertisements in the period from 1950 to 1970,
a very rich era for Italian animated film. It is clear, of course, that
the history of Italian animation continues today, and I look forward to
seeing current works spotlighted at the Festival through the remarkable
line-up of contemporary Italian
animated films. I would also like to highlight another laudable
initiative of the Festival: its promotion of the Italian language and
culture through film screenings in the original Italian, geared towards
students. In conclusion, I would like to offer my warmest thanks to the
Animatou directors and their entire team for their work and for the
wonderful and interesting perspective they have brought to our country.
