Philippe Stoll

Philippe Stoll est en charge de la Communication et de la Recherche au sein du Comité International de la Croix-Rouge (CICR) qu’il a rejoint en 2003. En 16 ans d’expérience humanitaire, Philippe a été en charge des relations publiques et médias pour l’Asie et le Pacifique au siège du CICR à Genève. Il a aussi effectué des missions en Inde, Sierra Leone et Israël et les Territoires Occupés. Alors qu’il s’intéresse à l’innovation et l’impact des nouvelles technologies sur le monde humanitaire, son travail actuel se focalise sur les stratégies et politiques de communication, ainsi qu’aux domaines de l’art, l’anthropologie, l’acceptation, la confiance et la proximité.
Né à Hong Kong, il possède un master en Economie de l’Université de Genève et un master en Journalisme du Centre Romand de Formation des Journalistes (Lausanne). En outre, il a travaillé pendant six ans dans la presse écrite et web avant de joindre le CICR.
Il est aussi actif sur la scène culturelle romande, avec notamment des collaborations avec Kid Chocolat et Poor Records, Pascal Greco, ainsi que le Musée de l’Elysée. Il est en outre membre du jury du Prix HEAD-CICR-Croix-Rouge Genevoise « Art et Humanité ».


Philippe Stoll heads the Communication and Research team at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). In his 16 years of humanitarian experience, Philippe has managed public and media relations for Asia and the Pacific at ICRC Headquarters in Geneva, and done field missions in India, Sierra Leone and Israel and the Occupied Territories. Passionate for innovation and the impact of new technologies on the humanitarian sector, his current focus is on communication strategies and policies, and touches on art, anthropology, acceptance, proximity and trust.
Born in Hong Kong, Stoll holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Geneva, and a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Lausanne. Prior to joining the ICRC in 2003, he spent six years working as a journalist for print and online media.
He is also active in the Swiss French cultural scene and has collaborated with Kid Chocolat and Poor Records, Pascal Greco and the Musée de l’Elysée. He is a member of the jury of the HEAD-ICRC-Red Cross of Geneva Art and Humanity Award.
