Olga Piuz (aka DJ Olga) est une artiste plasticienne, enseignante, DJ, musicienne et compositrice, née en 1974 en Pologne, qui vit depuis 1996 à Genève. Elle conduit notamment des ateliers en arts visuels à la Fondation Clairbois à Genève. Lors de son cursus à la Haute école d’art et de design (HEAD – Genève), elle a étudié la performance avec La Ribot et Yan Duyvendak et a réalisé des films d’animation expérimentaux destinés à être projetés sur le corps. Cette pratique de la performance a lui permis de renforcer son expression scénique.
Co-fondatrice active (avec Dr. Schnaps) du Gypsy Sound System (GSS), collectif de musique électro-world mondialement connu, DJ Olga sillonne depuis 17 ans les quatre coins du monde (USA, Japon, Nouméa, Pérou, Brésil, Europe…) lors des tournées du collectif. En tant que chanteuse et compositrice, elle a collaboré avec denombreux artistes et groupes de musique: Vagalatchk, Spirale, Rootwords, Harris Pilton, Rock Gitano, Jonas et plus récemment avec Stephan Eicher et Traktorkestar sur la grande scène du Paléo Festival. Olga collabore régulièrement à travers ses créations musicales “sur mesure” avec les centres d’art européens, comme le MEG (GE), le Palais de Tokyo (Paris), la Bellevilloise (Paris) et différents festivals internationaux (Montréal Jazz Festival, Numea Jazz Festival, Fukuoka Love FM Festival).
Olga Piuz (aka DJ Olga) is a visual artist, teacher, DJ, musician and composer. Born in 1974 in Poland, she has lived in Geneva since 1996, where she leads visual arts workshops at the Fondation Clairbois. At the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD – Genève), she studied performance with La Ribot and Yan Duyvendak and produced experimental animation films projected on the body. This performance work influenced and strengthened her stage expression as a musician.
DJ Olga is co-founder (with Dr. Schnaps) of Gypsy Sound System (GSS), a world-renowned electro-world music group. For the past 17 years she has toured the four corners of the world with her group, including stops in the United States, Japan, Nouméa, Peru, Brazil, and Europe. As a singer and composer, she has collaborated with numerous artists and groups, including Vagalatchk, Spirale, Rootwords, Harris Pilton, Rock Gitano, Jonas, and most recently with Stephan Eicher and Traktorkestar on the Paléo Festival’s main stage. With her tailor-made musical creations, Olga regularly works with European art centres such as Geneva’s Museum of Ethnography (MEG), the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Bellevilloise in Paris and with festivals like Montreal Jazz, Numea Jazz, and Fukuoka Love FM.
